all at days work

--------------------------
Siemens placement..
It was a piece of cake, no one sat from
my class. I topped the written with no competition and
flawless 10/10 answers in tech interview. but again HR was a blunder.
He asked me why siemens, I said because the kind of work they are doing
in Gurgaon is very relevent to my field. then I thought of giving more
thoughts about the company i said Siemens germany MNC. I know the kind of
high profile envoirment they must be maintaining in indian centers.
I love germany and world cup soccer I supported germany.(load of crap)
If I lucky enough to get the kind of work I was hoping for than SISL is
a gr8 choice and when there is no bond I can go for any other company.
Or TCS back easily because TCS is going to take 25K guys in next year.
and the level of difficulty I went thru for TCS selection was
a hot knife in butter. so I can do it again. TCS has growth and foreign oppertunities.
but SISL has the kind of work which I want to do.
embedded system telematics moblie stuff, robotics. whoa...

---------------------------

Human nature.....
no matter how many ted bundy or charles shobhraj are born and we talk about.
Serial nature of killings is your head's zombie.
its inside every one, I get my bad person while playing GTA (which is an RPG FPS)
After screwing up the street W***** I try to kill them. I don't know what drives me that
time. I stopped playing that game to prevent further increment of the evil part of me.
no more GTA.
I know, I have seen this thing in so many students.this Specially reveals when playing games
keep on shooting a dead body. cripple ripple a dead body by chain saw.(this is what I do in DOOM3)

I know what is happening...
you guys if any one of u watched the movie "anger management".
the gene hackman says adam sandler that there are two kinds of angry people
one receptnist who always talks to his clients rudely shouts at them and
alway fighting to custombers, shouting banging. each abuse is instantly replied
by a better one. so that one sort of life.
The receptnist who listens to all the customers shouting everyday, they are uttering
bad word to him, he takes them for granted as its a part of his job. people make
jokes on him. I listens no back fire. and ultimately the anger inside is growing
one day the pot fills up he buys a AK47 in grey market and shoots off entire MAll.

the second kind of guys get incurring pleasure in killing videogame characters.
It must be changed I want to play those games less but I dont get any other way of entertainment.
I have to go for those again and again and again...

the monk who screwed up his ferraris

___________________________________________________

Dated 5/8/06 Mesra

Yah! It was my first interview. On 30/7/06.

With TCS "Asia’s largest IT company". The incident follows :

____________________________________________________

I don't know I it was lucky or unlucky, that I was the last person.

My interview was supposed to be held at 12:15 but in the last they changed the schedule.

They started calling the names by the there alphabets. I may have been the 3rd person that was called, but I thought it will be in afternoon so I did not go in the morning. Then I became the last person for the interviews. It was of 2 sections technical and HR (human resources). The technical first they were taking interviews for 45 min - 1 hr. but since I was the one of the last few persons of my panel and entire interview process

so they did not spend much time evaluating me and I was asked few questions. In fact earlier students had 2 person taking there interviews, but when my no. came it was only one guy.

I was so nervous initially I thought I wont be able to speak, stammer or any thing else will happen.

Then I came to know that when you sit on the chair, all of your fear will vanish.

I tell you the questions the interviewer asked:

1. Tell me about yourself.

2. Tell me your IIT,AIEEE ranks. I had a decreasing trend of marks in 10,12,BE so he asked me why It is like that.

3. You know so many software from where did you get those. (Actually I had mentioned flash, 3d canvas

MS office the electronics software we are using to developed our processor in the form they gave to fill before interview) I told I use pirated CD !

4. Then the real technical interview started:

tell me the architecture of 8085, explain all the data bus, address bus, register , interrupts , peripherals flags. He asked about some instructions.

then 8086 architecture, I told him that it was not there in my syllabus but since we were doing project in microprocessor only so I know it. all the flags, registers draw the block diagram of it. I drew and explained him properly.

5. Then he asked me about my technical interests. I said I like coding for graphics making games small applications. one car racing game, memory puzzles, my visual basic RISC simulator etc.

6. He asked me how do you make games, I said interrupt in C ( which i never used).

and the thing went to Java multithreading environment . I told some crap things.

7. Then he said, I seem to be knowing the concepts.

8. He shook hands with me. told good boy.

Then it was HR:

1. Again I was the last person to go for HR in my panel (there were 6 panels).

2. Same question tell me about you, describe yourself.

3. Qualities of you.

4. Describe that.

5. what I like most, I said I like to think of and try to make the things that

will make a world a better place to live.( theme stolen from MJ's song)

It can be anything, but as technology is my field so s/w and h/w would

be the implementation. The best part of the process is when the people

use the product and they come to know that this is going to make their

work easier. And the emotions which they show when they see a gadget, s/w, game, anime

made by you. may be you will not have a name like film star but you are not

the less than a film star.

6. he was asking about the Bundi to kota shifting, I said all the things.

7. Then he asked about my draw-backs.

I was confused what "draw backs" are because it was a new term for me

Weakness, actually I was not prepared that much about this question.

I told him to repeat the question, "Sir! please repeat the question".

Then I said I don't have any. he said than you must be god.

Then I said something crap that I can't tell you right now.

8. Then I explained one of my project ideas. It was a hit. I spoke well. Overall they wanted to see how well I can speak in English. And because of my three year long practice that has become a part of everyday, I was quite fluent. Not so confident, but fluent.

Now something about TCS: The Company.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) is Asia's largest software company with

2004-05 revenues being over US$ 3 bn. First company to reach that 2 bn mark.

Today, about 90 percent of TCS' revenue comes from consulting, while the rest from products.

The company now has 72 offices worldwide. As many as seven centers were assessed

at SEI CMM Level 5 last year(3.4 mistakes in a million opportunities).
23 % of the employees are offshore dealing with foreign projects. Very good chances to go to USA, Hungry, Europe and other places.

LAST FEW WORDS: many of my friends have got placed in freescale (package: 5 lakh), Microsoft (9 lakh: 3 students). Google took only one guy. Oracle (5 lakh: 10 students), Tata motors (4.7 lakh: 30 students), Maruti (4 lakh: 30). But most of the other are in the SWITCH = Satyam, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, CTS, HCL.

You were telling about IBM India, Accenture India, its worse than TCS.

These companies are mass recruiters. Students are sucked into the back draft suction created by the boom in software. Some get made and some get sad. (Take it rhythmic "made" and "sad’) Still the placements are going on, today it was TCS tomorrow Accenture.

One thing we get for sure, that if you come to BIT for studying than you are sure of getting a job.

Few more good companies are going to come like Adobe, Varizon, Mindtree, Tata elxsi, Indus logic, amdocs, and flextronics. Intel and AMD may also come.

Rests all are not better than TCS. We are going to see 40 companies this time. More than 130% placements, that means many students are going to get jobs in 2 or 3 companies.

My prospective towards a job:

When I was in 10th class one guy asked me what you want to do in your life. I said that I wanted to become a game programmer. If you remember I used to play a lot of games. I was really willing to be the part of the creative industry. But I had a fear that the game industry and animation are always hammered by the piracy and I won’t be able to get the compensation and respect I deserve for my work. Look I mean if you ask someone in the market that does he consider animation graphics and game development as a job that you can do through out your life. They will say it’s a hobby college student do the part time job making those in this popped up animation outsourcing companies. Forget about the game programming there aren’t any studios here in India. So its all was a dream one has when child. I thought. Any way I still like writing codes.

The only thing I fear about is a downfall in software industry in near future all the people are going to lose there job. The problem is that the s/w tools are getting sophisticated. As the time is passing it’s becoming easier to develop the s/w. Ten years ago which application took 100 people and 1000 work hours to develop the application now because of the newer language tools, source database (data base of already written code), wizards and open source culture it has become much easier to make the same application and 10 person 100 work hours can do the task. So the moral is the IT is becoming cheaper, easier and efficient. But later when I came to BIT came to know that I am not very good at this engineering stuff. The VLSI, logical circuits, communication circuits and electronics were a bit difficult for me. I found that I cannot be through with these courses . I can do those things but I can’t master those things.

Understanding life: (ahh…getting philosophical) I wrote so much here but lastly I did some cuts and put only this thing. Work today for better tomorrow. Because your worked well yesterday you have a good today. No one listens to me here frankly so I have only you to tell. I know the reason because I am the only persons who tells this crap.

" There is a round planet surrounded by so many similar bodies, there live different creatures I don’t know how do they look, There is sand on that planet and because of developed science of that species they are trying to see the atomic structure of the grain. Later they come to know that the grain has a detail that they can’t see it beyond. But I think that grain there are 3 billion galaxies. Each galaxy has 20 million stars. Each star has 10 planets. One of the planets is named earth by the natives. There are 7 billion people. Millions of them die everyday, millions born everyday. I was born and if lucky I will die 70 years later. After that no one is going to remember me (still a few do) and I am so much worried about our lives, belongings and the loved ones." Israel-Palestine, suicide bombers, L-e-T, hamas, al-kayada, Kashmir, Iraq, Hitler, Tito, Kameruz, gas chambers, ULFA, Mao. Murder, gore, blood, dead body, lie, steal, corruption, rob, crime, torture, pain, grief, death, mourn.
